The iron thunder is my favorite book it about the civil war and it talking about the USS Monitor and USS Merrimac. Before they fought, the boy named is Tom he is a news paper boy but his family need more money. His ma wanted to let him to join the war to get more money then they did. Then tom went to the Iron shop and he saw a strange iron ship ever seen before with no rope and no sails on the ship. It was the monitor.
It was a first ironclad ship to stop the Merrimac. The Rebs took the Merrimac they turn into the ironclad ship. Where they will fight? In the Hampton Roads. The Merrimac need more supples they are going to get the England supplies from England ship. Then the Monitor was going to stop the Merrimac to get England supplies from England ship.
It was a good book ever. When I read the book, and I never heard the ironclad so I went to the computer to look it up. Where to look through about the monitor? in the next page in the end of the book.
